The Greatest Threat to A Racist Society
The greatest threat to a racist society is a black man who knows where he’s coming from, where he’s going, and that God is his source.... (I'll elaborate more on this at a later date...)
Finding Your Purpose in Life
The Wealthiest Spot on this Planet
"The wealthiest spot on this planet is not the oil fields of Kuwait, Iraq or Saudi Arabia. Neither is it the gold and diamond mines of South Africa, the uranium mines of the Soviet Union or the silver mines of Africa. Though it may surprise you, the richest deposits on our planet lie just a few blocks from your house. They rest in your local cemetery or graveyard. Buried beneath the soil within the walls of those sacred grounds are dreams that never came to pass, songs that were never sung, books that were never written, paintings that never filled a canvas, ideas that were never shared, visions that never became reality, inventions that were never designed, plans that never went beyond the drawing board of the mind and purposes that were never fulfilled. Our graveyards are filled with potential that remained potential. What a tragedy! If you don't know where your are going, any road will take you there. You can't reach your potential without knowing your purpose and walking in it."
Purpose
"Purpose is the master of motivation and the mother of commitment. When nations, societies, communities, friendships, marriages, clubs, churches, countries or tribes lose their sense of purpose and significance, then confusion, frustration, discouragement, disillusionment and corporate suicide--whether gradual or instant--reign. This is evident in our world. In every nation there is a generation that seems to have lost their sense of purpose. They are out of touch with the values, morals and convictions that build strong families, secure communities, healthy societies and prosperous nations. Thus, the moral fabric of most societies is being stretched and tested to its outer limits.
We must realize that our fulfilment in life is dependent on our becoming and doing what we were born to be and do. For without purpose, life has no heart..."
(For additional information on this subject, read Dr. Myles Munroe book entitled: The Pursuit of Purpose).
Finding Your Purpose in Life
Ephesians 2:10 says that we are His workmanship created in Christ Jesus unto good works which God ordained beforehand that we should walk in them. In other words, God has a plan for your life. There is success in that plan... There is victory in that plan... ALL THINGS that pertain to life and godliness is in that plan. The Key to success then is to find out what the will of God is...after that, confer no more to flesh and blood. If you let them, many people will try to talk you out of many things, but only he who has the vision is allowed to walk on the faith bridge which carries one across the troubled waters of this life.
The best way to waste time is to not know purpose. Purpose is the original intent for the creation of a thing that was in the mind of the creator. Purpose is the why for a thing.
Memorize the following:
1. God is a God of purpose.
2. Nothing in life is without purpose. Everything in life has a purpose!!
3. Not every purpose is known.
4. Where purpose is not known, abuse is inevitable!!
5. If you want to know the purpose of a thing, don't ask the thing!
6. Purpose is found only in the mind of the creator (the maker of the thing).
7. Purpose is the key to fulfillment.
Your Plans, God's Purposes
...by Myles Munroe

Purpose
"The greatest and most important pursuit in life is purpose. The greatest tragedy in life is living your life without ever knowing why. In fact, one of the most dangerous situations to be in is to not have a reason for being alive. When that happens, death often becomes more attractive than life and many of those who find themselves at that point opt for suicide. As Christians, we are called to live, and to have purpose!
There's a difference though between having plans and having purpose. Proverbs 19:21 says, "Many are the plans in a man's heart, but it is the Lord's purpose that prevails"(NIV)
God doesn't do anything without purpose, including His creation of you. You have a purpose for being on this earth. And once you discover that purpose, you'll find that you are protected from doing many good things. "Protected?" you might ask. Yes! One of the most powerful weapons of satan is to preoccupy us with doing good things, because if we stay busy enough doing good things, we'll probably miss out on doing the RIGHT thing in God's eyes. We can get so caught up in our "plans" tht we miss out on God's purpose for our being. We can become very efficient without being effective. Efficiency is doing a thing right. But, effectiveness is doing the right thing.
My questions to you today are these: Are you busy doing a thing right without ever considering if it is the right thing? Have you made your plans in life without consulting God as to His purpose for your existence?
Only God's purpose will prevail in the end. It's not only fruitless, but dangerous to make plans without considering God's purposes. Consult God about His PURPOSE for you this day."

No Guessing Games

"When I came to Oral Roberts University as a student, I came with a clear purpose for my life. I had written it down as God revealed it to me. I knew who I was and where I was going. I came to ORU to get equipment to carry out God's assignment for my life.
Therefore, every choice was relevant. Every course had extra meaning for me. I was looking for the way in which God's purposes might be fulfilled in every encounter, every conversation, every chapel speaker.
When you know God's purpose for your life, you are no longer on a haphazard journey to nowhere. Life is no longer one big guessing game. You know why you were born and where you are gong.
So many of us are busy, busy, busy all the time. I believe that's because most of us don't know why we're here. We're running around trying to make things happen or trying to find something meaningful. Get focused on your purpose and you'll have a reason for each thing you do. You won't need all that extra motion!
God doesn't ask you to run in circles. He asks you to run a straight course to victory. He designed you for your particular race. He created you with a goal in mind__something for you to be and do in His creation.
"Does God really have a purpose for ME?" many ask.
Yes! He has a purpose for every ant and every cockroach on this earth. Surely He has a purpose for YOU!
Ask God today: What is Your purpose for my life?
Get down on your knees and stay there until you know without a doubt what it is that God intends for you to accomplish for Him. Submit yourself to God and find out what His purpose is. Lock into it. Don't lose sight of it. Don't let go of it. Let God's purpose prevail in your life!"

God's Provision for His Purpose for Your Life

"God is committed to His purposes being accomplished. That's good news. For when we lock into His purposes for us, we can know with surety that God IS going to work all things together for our good--indeed, He's working all things together for HIS good! Read Romans 8:28 again: "We know that all things work together for good to them tht love God, to them who are called according to his purpose." It doesn't say that all things work together for good for everybody. No! To those who are called... according to HIS PURPOSE.
When you are living within God's purpose for your life, He'll make everything work for you. Even your enemies will fall in love with and bless you.
God is only obligated to bless His own projects. So often we bring our plans to God and ask Him to bless them. God isn't obligated to do that__in fact, He won't do it__unless it's part of His purpose.
I knew when I came to ORU that God had called me, and that my education at ORU was the next step in His purpose for my life. I came from a family of eleven children and no one in my family had ever gone to college and I had no parental financial support. My total education cost $57,000 and my parents never sent me a cent. I discovered that God sometimes has our money in someone else's pocket, and when we are in His purpose, He'll cause that money to come out of their pockets into ours! He WILL provide because it's for HIS purposes!
God planned for your assignment on this earth and for your success at it before you were born. At the same time He laid aside the provisions you will need to get the job done! He never intended for you to fail at HIs purpose. He only intends for you to succeed at it! Discover His purpose, and His provision will be there for you. Live outside His purpose, however, and He's not obligated to fund your own personal, private dream.
Are you experiencing a lack of provision today? It may be because you aren't walking in God's purpose for you! Find His purpose. Walk in it. God WILL provide for YOU!"
Understanding Your Potential in Life
"Potential is ...dormant ability...reserved power...untapped strength...unused success...hidden talents...capped capability...All you can be but have not yet become...all you can do but have not yet done...how far you can reach but have not yet reached...what you can accomplish but have not yet accomplished. Potential is unexposed ability and latent power.
Potential is therefore not what you have done, but what you are yet able to do. In other words, what you have done is no longer your potential. What you have successfully accomplished is no longer potential. It is said that unless you do something beyond what you have done, you will never grow or experience your full potential. Potential demands that you never settle for what you have accomplished. One of the great enemies of your potential is success. In order to realize your full potential, you must never be satisfied with your last accomplishment. It is also important that you never let what you cannot do interfere with what you can do. The greatest tragedy in life is not death, but a life that never realized its full potential. You must decide today not to rob the world of the rich, valuable, potent, untapped resources locked away within you. Potential never has a retirement plan.
Ask yourself these questions:
Who am I?
Why am I here?
How much potential do I have?
What am I capable of doing?
By what criteria should I measure my ability?
Who sets the standards?
By what process can I maximize my ability?
What are my limitations?
You are more than what you have done!"

Releasing Your Potential
"The mind is a terrible thing to waste". Wasted purpose and potential are even more tragic than that!
" The poorest man in the world is the man without a dream. The most frustrated man in the world is the man with a dream that never becomes reality. If we have been frustrated by our dreams, ideas and visions, we must learn how to activate our buried treasure and ignite the wheels of productivity. We must release a death blow to procrastination and set ourselves on a path to personal fulfillment, purpose and productivity. We must go beyond understanding our potential and learn to: a) Activate, stimulate and release the wealth of our potential; b) break free and leap over the limitations of past opinions; and e) comprehend and appropriate the principle keys for unleashing for the next generation the wealth of potential trapped inside."
